We are TOPS Musical Theatre Company - a friendly, enthusiastic, amateur society based in the Twickenham/Whitton area of South West London. We pride ourselves on creating professional-level shows while ensuring that every single cast member has their moment to shine and bring the production to life! We welcome everyone, whether you're a past professional looking to get back in the swing of things, an experienced amateur performer, or even a complete first-timer who just wants to give it a go.
Your Time to Shine
We are a high-standard amateur group, and we believe in developing stage skills at all levels. While existing performance capabilities are a bonus, enthusiasm is absolutely essential! We are proud to have a strong community spirit, with members spanning from their late teens right up to their 80s. Everyone is encouraged to get involved and share the fun.

If you love being in the spotlight, this is for you! Our high standards mean we push performers, but we offer a supportive environment where you can truly bring your diverse talents to the stage.
Backstage Heroes
Don't want to perform? No problem! We're just as interested in you if you prefer to be behind the scenes. We rely on volunteers for everything from making tea at rehearsals and assisting with marketing to building props and scenery. Your input is vital in bringing the show to life! We also encourage everyone to join in with our social and fundraising events to build that community spirit.

Where & When We Meet (Rehearsals)
Our Location
We currently rehearse at Whitton Community Centre, Percy Road, Whitton (Click here for Google Maps). There’s free parking available, <10min walk from Whitton train station and it's easily accessible via local buses.
Rehearsal Schedule
Our regular rehearsals are held on Tuesday evenings (from 8pm) and every-other Sunday. Depending on the show, there may also be Thursday rehearsals, and rehearsals naturally increase closer to performance dates. A full, detailed rehearsal schedule is created ahead of each show period and updated regularly, ensuring everyone knows who is called for rehearsal.
Attendance & Communication
We are very understanding that not everyone can make every single rehearsal. We simply ask that performing members communicate any absence in advance so our creative team can structure rehearsals efficiently around availability. While we are flexible, regular no-shows may result in being asked to step down from the production.

The Details: Auditions and Fees
We pride ourselves on being one of the most affordable amateur societies in the area.
Auditions: Simple, Supportive, and Inclusive
If you want to appear on stage in one of our main productions, you’ll need to audition. Auditions for TOPS are made as simple as possible, even the most nervous auditionees need not worry as we foster an inclusive and supportive environment! Dates are announced at the start of each production schedule.

Non-Members are welcome! We allow non-members to audition for a small, non-refundable audition fee. If following the auditions you decide to stick around and become a full Performing member, this audition fee will be deducted from your first month's member fees!
Membership Fees
We have two straightforward membership options:

Performing Member - £20 per month
This flat rate is paid throughout the production period (rehearsals to performance). It covers your full membership, rehearsal attendance, and all production fees. Note: Depending on the show, members may be asked to provide some costume elements to help dress the show.

Associate Member - £5 per month
Perfect for non-performing, backstage, or general supporters. Benefits include invites to all social events and discounted tickets for our shows.
